Model Barge 87 is first mentioned as being at the Elizabeth Marine Ways on February 17, 1909.

The photo above shows the replica of the Steamer NEW ORLEANS on a trial run during October 1911 at the Elizabeth Marine Ways before she begins her historic recreation of the voyage of the original NEW ORLEANS.  Behind the NEW ORLEANS are two Model Barges, including 87.  Model Barge 87 was docked on May 1, 1911 and did not depart until October 20, 1911.
